Near the end of June I am planning a three week backpacking trip on the Pacific Crest Trail from Oregon’s Crater Lake to California’s Mt. Shasta, but before I jump into that adventure there are a few author-related tasks that I want to complete, and of course I want to keep you in the loop!
First and foremost Silhouette is planned to be released in June. The manuscript is going through another editing phase right now and everything is going according to schedule. Here is a back cover description for the novella:
Born a slave to an alien corporation, Susan Singh escaped with the help of a politician who would shape the young girl into a deadly force of human vengeance.
Alien factions are tearing down the walls of human civilization. Men and women struggle to survive in a universe where humankind is considered an inferior species to all other sentient life. Leslie Folami presides over a clandestine council of world leaders bent on establishing the respect humanity deserves, even if it means starting a war that they cannot win. Unknown to her peers, Folami has sent her assassin on a perilous mission that might give them a fighting chance.
Raised as a secret tool for Folami’s political schemes, Susan was trained in the ways of the Enforcers from the past, taught to harness the shadow to her will and live as death incarnate. A decade passed under Folami’s tutelage before Susan was given the assignment she had been waiting for, revenge on the alien menace plaguing her home world and a chance to free her family.
Silhouette takes places in the same universe as my debut novel, Frostarc. And speaking of Frostarc, I’ve decided that it is time for the book to have a facelift. I published the novel back in 2012 before I had any real sense of the publishing world, and I feel that the book could use another round of editing to fix some errors and tighten up the pacing of the story. Along with the grammatical edits I will be remaking the cover as well. The art will stay the same, but the text needs to be updated. The new edition will be released for both the ebook and print versions and its updates will coincide with the release of Silhouette in June.
I am planning to attend some events later in the summer to promote my works and I will let you all know when and where once I have the dates confirmed. In preparation for these events I am creating banners to signal where I’m at and bookmarks to hand out to all of those who attend.
Last of all I am working on a new project and I plan to have its first draft completed before I start my hike. Those of you who read Frostarc may remember a short story about a dying man and his animal companion battling with the demons of the night. Now Guthrow and his crow have a bigger story to tell of their fantastical world and its struggle to bring balance to the forces of light and darkness.
I’ve got a busy month ahead of me, but it will all be worth it once these stories are out for you all to see.
Can’t wait to read your new book!!!!!
