So I have jumped into self-publishing. You can actually purchase my stories for an e-reader– how cool is that?

Kindles, Nooks, and all the other various e-reader devices are flying off the shelves. I’ve only recently discovered the self-publishing phenomenon and it appears to be an important tool for modern writers. I’ve spent months and years trying to get some of my short stories published in magazines, but now I can publish the stories all on my own.

And so I have. I’ve created profiles on Amazon, Barnes&Noble, and Smashwords. I’ve uploaded three of my short stories and I plan to upload many more. I can set my own price and market my stories on my own terms.

If you’ve checked out the writings section of this website, you’ve seen excerpts of some of my shorts. You can now purchase full versions of those stories for only $0.99. The ability to self-publish for these e-readers is simply fabulous. I can get viewership and recognition for my stories, and I can set them at a very inexpensive price so that many can enjoy them without concern. So far I have published Guthrow and His Crow, A Push, and She Who Comes With a Guitar. I’ll give you the links so you can check them out.

My Amazon (Kindle) Links:

  • Guthrow and His Crow
  • A Push
  • She Who Comes With a Guitar
  • My Barnes&Noble (Nook) Links:

  • I’ll let you know when other stories are published as well. I’m so excited to put my stories on these platforms and step away from the traditional publishing routes. I’ve taken a lot of advice from the reddit writing community and various blog articles I’ve come across about formatting and marketing for self-published works.

I’m still deciding whether self-publishing would be the correct route for my novel to take, but I still have to finish it first!
